What happened to cover art after the 90's? Without a doubt the 90's gave birth to a wide range of musicians from hip-hop to rockers in garage bands. The 90's rock band Primus had some cool cover art on their albums and the hip-hop moguls from Cypress Hill have some cool cover art on their old albums that are fun to look at. Changing circumstances have forced musicians and artists to change with the times.
Did you ever buy a CD because of the art on the album cover? For the most part it's the artwork that captures the individuals attention and it seemed like every band or group from the 90's had cool cover art on their albums. You can Sail The Sea OF Cheese with the rock band Primus and go Insane In The Membrane with the hip-hop moguls from Cypress Hill.
Did you like the cover art better than the music? I always thought that heavy metal bands had cool cover art, the kind of cover art that might scare your parents. There was more of a physical component to marketing back then, Whereas today the majority of marketing is done by pushing a button. Also, I admit I bought some albums solely because of the cover art only to be disappointed by the music, mostly metal bands. Do you remember life before the internet?
ENJOY!
